MESSAGE BY FILA PRESIDENT

The Polish Federation of Wrestling has once again asked and obtained from FILA the organisation of an important competition in the current calendar. It is in this year the European Championship for the cadets and the city of Katowice is responsible for this organisation.
Katowice has been used to important FILA competitions for many years and all the latest generations of wrestlers set foot on the wrestling mats of this city once in their career.
There is therefore no doubt that young wrestlers will feel at home in Katowice and they will appreciate the atmosphere, the warmth and the hospitality of this beautiful and historic city.
The Polish Wrestling Federation which in this Olympic year has all eyes on the London Olympics wanted nevertheless to organize a Cadet European Championship; it is to its credit and it shows its concern for the training of young people who want to take part in the Rio Games in 2016.
On behalf of FILA, I wish all the youth of Europe an excellent Cadet European Championship 2012 and that the majority of young wrestlers in Europe be present in Baku at the world championship. Good luck to all of you.
